Janet Johnson started taking yoga classes in 2007 and completed her 200 hour teacher training with Judy McClain at Grace Yoga in 2013. After several years of study and practice, she started including qigong in her classes, earning her Level 1 qigong teacher certification with Nick Loffree in 2024. Qigong (pronounced chee-gung) works with the body’s natural energy to release tension, improve balance, enhance mental focus, and build stamina. Her classes include stretching and strengthening, along with revitalizing energy through flowing movements. All levels are welcome.
Mary Proietta discovered yoga when she moved to Rhode Island in the early 1990s. As a dedicated student at Bristol Yoga Studio, she experienced the profound benefits of regular practice. In 2015, Mary pursued Hatha Yoga Teacher Training with Theresa Murphy, completing her 200 Hour RYT in 2018. Her classes cater to all levels, themed around yogic philosophy. Whether a beginner or experienced practitioner, everyone is welcome to explore, breathe, and experience healing vibrations in her classes. Mary’s classes incorporate meditation, pranayama, and asana, emphasizing openness to the possibilities yoga offers. She provides modifications and alignment tips, honoring each student’s unique practice. Besides teaching yoga, Mary works as a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with a private practice in Bristol. She lives in Bristol with her husband Joe and their dog Charlie.
